The Communication and Interpersonal Skills (CIS) will now focus on five functions that the examinee will be assessed on:

1. Fostering a relationship

2. Gathering information

3. Providing information

4. Making decisions

5. Supporting emotions

Take a look at the Assessment List  which gives a little more detail of what will be expected of you to get a passing score.

Change in Minimum Passing Requirements for Step 2 CK

The Step 2 Committee decided to raise the three-digit score recommended to pass Step 2 CK from 184 to 189!!!!

 

The new minimum passing score of 189 on Step 2 CK examinations takes effect on July 1, 2010.

 

 

Small change in number of Biostatistics and Epidemiology items for Step 2 & 3

 

According to the website www.usmle.org,   small increases in the number of biostatistics and epidemiology items will appear in Step 2 beginning in 2010 and in Step 3 in 2011.
