I just got my scores back and I did great -- thanks in part to your great teaching @ the Kaplan Live Lectures. The coag. cascade got me 3 easy marks and I was doing the "MEMBRANOPROLIFERATIVE" and EKG dance-moves during my exam. Got some weird looks from the admin staff but it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! Barone Rocks!

You are a breath of fresh air. Pathology transformed into a wonderful subject and suddenly became applicable to everything. Suddenly I cared very much about pathology lectures and didn't actually want the lectures to end. You are awesome. I hope you wake up every morning and know that you make a massive difference to the people you teach. You make people care, you make people learn, and you show us why pathology really matters. Attending your class was the best experience I've had in a long time, and it was the highlight of the whole Kaplan course - without a doubt! Your enthusiasm and passion for medicine was unbelievable. Barone rocks. This is one mafia, any medical student would be honoured to be a part of. Medicine at another level. This is being cool at another level, at a molecular level. Keep up the great work john. Indeed in your class, we learn everything from medicine to life. It's all relevant. You teach us how to be the difference maker. Medicine school probably prepared us for a 3 quarter superbowl but you prepare us for the crucial 4th quarter where it matters the most, down the last 2 minutes, the winning touchdown. I feel I will be to medicine like Joe Montana, Favre and Tom brady are to the NFL. They have fun playing the game. John barone makes medicine fun. When it's fun, it's hard not to give it your best.

I had to teach the incoming 2nd years about EKGs a couple days ago and I taught them your EKG dance and they said they learned it better in the 1 hour I spent with them (sharing your stories and dance!) than they learned all of first year! Hi Dr. barone i wanted to let you know that i just took Step 2 few days ago and wanted to inform that I used your oncology notes from step 1 prep.. and thats all i used! That lil chart you had made for us summarized everything. I think with out that I wouild have had a difficult time with oncology because its very hard to differentiate between the diseases. But i remember aml=midlife and cll=chronic long life lol. It helped me alot and i wanted to let you know so that you can tell you current students to guard that chart with their life!!! Just needed to say thanks for all your fantastic Step I knowledge. And let you know I totally impressed my Intern, Residents, Cardiology Fellow and Attending by explaining, without hesitation, all the EKG leads and their correlating anatomy. Dr. Barone, I'm a 3rd year medical student from SGU. I took your class this summer in Delaware. I am in my pediatrics rotation now in Brooklyn.
